How do you handle shipping and what is the cost?
Unless you elect to pick your kayak up at our factory all of our kayaks are
shipped via Con-Way Freight. We use a custom designed carton which has made
damage very rare. There is no charge for shipping anywhere in
the contiguous 48 states and we will ship to the
nearest
Con-Way Freight terminal where you will be able to pick it up. If you prefer we can have it
delivered to your door for an additional $75. Top
What happens if my kayak is damaged in shipping?
In the unlikely event your kayak is damaged in shipping we simply ask you to give
us a call. We will immediately build you a new boat and in the meantime you can go ahead and use the one you have. (only once was a boat damaged beyond
use) We will ship you the replacement boat and have you send the damaged boat back to us. We will, of course, pay all of the freight charges and take care
of any claims with the freight company. Top

We certainly understand that feeling and for some folks it is something they
can't get past. However, generally we will be able to direct you to someone in your area who has a QCC kayak with whom you can speak and visit. The greatest
comfort for you should be our 100% satisfaction guarantee. This is our way of saying that we are so confident that you will love your new QCC kayak that we
are willing to build one for you just the way you like it and if you don't we'll absorb all of the cost of returning it and refund 100% of your money.

Do people ever send their kayaks back for a refund?
Yes, about 1% of the people who order a kayak from us decide to return it for whatever reason. We also have never refused a return or ever charged a
re-stocking fee or return freight. We have a motto at QCC that says we will never have a single unhappy customer. The way for us to ensure that is to
always treat people the way we would want to be treated. There have also been some rare occasions where upon receiving their
kayak a customer has discovered that
they would prefer a different model and in those case we have gladly made the exchange, again with no cost to the customer. When you deal with us you will
find that we take the quality of our service as seriously as the quality of our kayaks.

What if I have a problem with my kayak that needs attention after I've had it awhile?
One of the neat things about selling kayaks the way we do is we get complete and
instant feedback from our customers on how their kayak are performing and standing up under various conditions. As a result we go the extra mile in
building our kayaks using the finest materials to ensure long-lasting performance. In the event you have a problem with your kayak, just call us and
we will do whatever is required to solve the problem to your satisfaction. If it is a warranty issue that requires the kayak to be sent back to us we will
most often build you a new kayak and when you receive it you would then send the other kayak back, again we will pay all shipping costs. If the problem is the
result of something you've done we will assist you in any way possible to accomplish the required repairs. One of the real advantages of composite
kayaks is their easy reparability. Top
I see a lot of great testimonials on your site, but what about complaints?
We don't have any! Truly, if a customer buys one of our kayaks and has a complaint we either solve it for them or make them an
uncustomer. We're very
serious about this. Fortunately we have a superior product at a superior value and the most frequent comment we get is that we provided far more
than

How will I know that I will be comfortable in your kayaks without sitting in them first?
To be honest, you won't. However, you can feel pretty confident since we have sold hundreds and hundreds of our kayaks to folks all over the country who
never saw them either and they find them extremely comfortable. After talking to so many folks on the phone we have learned what questions to ask and how to
ensure that you will be receiving the best kayak for you. Customers constantly tell us that they feel they have received better and more knowledgeable
treatment from us than they have from other folks when they were face to face. Top
Is it really wise to buy a kayak without test paddling it first?
I guess that depends on what you mean by test paddling. Most often test paddles consist of a relatively brief period of time spent in a kayak under rather
restrictive circumstances. We think we have the best test paddling program in the business. When you get one of our kayaks you can take it and paddle the
dickens out of it where you want, when you want and how you want for 30 days. If after that
you're not in love with it we'll take it away from you and
give you all your money back. No matter how many kayaks you can paddle locally it can still be quite limited compared to all that is available. We know how
our boats paddle and perform and we also know the same about our competitor's boats. There are some good kayaks out there and there are also some awful
ones. All in all we feel that the quality of our kayaks starting with John Winters superb designs, our engineering and fabrication and the terrific value
we offer by selling direct makes us the best value on the planet for quality sea kayaks.

Why do you only sell
direct and not through dealerships?
When we decided to offer the kayaks we make under our own QCC name we
looked at both methods of selling our kayaks; through traditional
dealerships vs. direct to the consumer. We also know that we could not do
both nor could we change our minds after the decision was made. We decided
to offer our kayaks factory-direct because of the freedom it gave us to
make the best kayak possible and put a fair price on it. We don't have to
focus on driving down costs and sacrificing quality to meet a wholesale
price. We also have the enjoyment of dealing directly with the people who
use our kayaks and that is perhaps the best part of all. To constantly get
email and phone calls from folks telling us how thrilled they are with
their QCC kayak and how it was so much more than they expected makes our
jobs truly a joy. Top
Why can't I get a
catalog or brochure of your kayaks?
If you're reading this the answer is obvious. The Internet is the most
efficient means of doing business possible if done right. So many other
companies simply add their web sites on to their existing retail business.
By doing this they aren't able to offer any additional value or savings to
their potential customers, this is evidenced by the scores of
"dot-bombs". Whether you are an e-business or not, a business
still has to be profitable. Our business model is the most efficient of
all. We are a manufacturer that offers its products directly to the
consumer using the Internet as our primary marketing vehicle. Therefore,
we don't spend money on catalogs, brochures, media advertising,
sales-reps, dealer mark-ups, trade shows, etc. The result is we can make
the highest quality products and deliver superb customer service for less
than other companies and even make a profit in the process. This is good
